HOW IT WORKS
Participants in our Barn Cat program need to provide their new “employees” with these five necessities:
- An initial safe holding area such as a small storage room where they can be held and acclimated for 1-2 weeks (our coordinator will help you determine how to set up such an area)
- Sufficient shelter, especially during harsh weather
- Dry cat food given on a regular basis (we recommend a cup of dry cat food per cat in the morning to minimize unwanted guests)
- Fresh, clean water at all times
- An environment free from aggressive dogs or other menacing animals.
If you can no longer provide the above care or need to relocate a cat adopted through our program, please call us for assistance. Also, if medical attention is needed, we will be available by phone to help determine a course of action.
, Barn Cat Coordinator and former animal welfare advocate in Mexico, will be happy to speak with you regarding our program and visit your home or business to discuss details. She can be reached by visiting our CONTACT US page.
